Desizing agents help in the removal of added impurities in the form of starch and other synthetic sizes, without having any adverse effect on the fibre. 

Demineralising removes difficult to eliminate pigments from the fibre substrate and ionises metallic particles, thereby prohibiting catalytic damage to cellulosic fibres and can produce better whites.

Surfactants aid wetting and penetration of the fibre and provide cleaning action. They have good dispersing and soil suspending properties and allow higher processing speeds and reduced costs.

In order to impart lustre, increased strength and improved dye uptake to cotton fabrics (or yarns), they are mercerised either in the grey state or after bleaching. Essentially, mercerising is carried out by treating the cotton material under tension.

Bleaching Assistants are designed to facilitate the action of bleaching agents during bleaching. These bleaching assistants regulate a uniform release of peroxy ions and thereby ensure uniform bleaching.

Hypochlorite neutralisers are required for removal/neutralisation of residual chlorine from the cotton substrate bleached by using Hypochlorite liquor for improved subsequent dyeing or printing of cotton. 

Sequestering agents are added in processing liquors for binding of calcium and magnesium ions. These sequestering agents should have good dispersing power that increases the detergency of surfactants.

Weight Reduction of polyester is done to impart suppleness and softness to the fabric and for reduction of denier. The weight reduction catalyst helps in achieving the desired effect uniformly at reduced caustic consumption.

Efficiently neutralises the residual core alkali after the scour bleach operation for producing whiter whites.
